Sum- Sum - Summatime

Jackson came back home! It was such a long amount of time it felt like for him to be gone.  We picked him up at the airport in Orange County and he was ready to party.  I saved him a few See's suckers from Brady's birthday party and the LA sunglasses from it as well.

We drove down to San Clemente to have some fun!

Ryan and Jackson ate Brady's party's leftovers - they were twizzlers that looked like french fries. They played for hours and swam.

Then, we took Jackson to In-n-Out because he told us he was ready for his first hamburger.  He has had meatballs in pasta, but never a hamburger.  He was a little nervous but then ended up loving it!

We drove home and brought out the air hockey table so the guys could play.
The next day we did some new school shopping since he was to start school in the beginning of August already.  I am not much of a shopper, and neither is Jackson so we made it brief.  He wanted to show me some things he wanted from the Disney store.
We came back to swim together!
Then the next day we spent it at Disneyland all by ourselves!

We went on the swings, the Goofy ride and played at the arcade.  He actually won the pitching game that was really hard and impressed the guy that worked there.

The next day we had Griffin and his sister over to hang out and go to the Farmer's Market.  We took them swimming and dinner.  It was a little rowdy but we managed :)

They came over again the next day and Brady stayed home with them while I ran over to my friend Kylee's bridal shower.  It was fun to celebrate her and Dave!
That night we went to Cheesecake Factory for dinner, then to this new shaved ice place and then played at Dave and Busters for the night.  It was a fun family night together.

The next week we planned a day down south with his friend Axel at the sky high place.  They played for a long time, as we were trying to feed the boys, they didn't want to stop playing.  After we drove to San Clemente to see Bree's little black bunny and his best buddies.

Jackson told me he really wanted the burrito place so I drove over to Wahoo's thinking that was the place he was thinking but then he told me while we were there it was Pedros!  haha

I had a YW activity that I brought Jackson to for an hour because it was swimming and his friend Jack would be there as well.  He had a lot of fun in their pool.
The next day we went to this Dinosaur exhibit where there was all of these inflatable dinos and things like that.  We did the face painting, golfed, he did the mazes trying to hide from me by covering his face (haha!!) and much more.  It turned out to be not as cheesy as we thought it would have been and he had a good time.  We got ice cream after.

We went to Disneyland and knew it was going to be a hot day.  So we dressed for the warmth and also to get wet on the ride since last time we got drenched.  It was a fun afternoon to play but near the end we were so tired and ready to go home!  Love my days with Jackers at Disneyland!

// B R A D Y I S T H I R T Y //

Brady was about to turn 30, and I think I was more excited than he was.  We walked over to Menchies and had a little yogurt together the night before he was 3.  We talked about what we were going to do the next day to celebrate so I told him that after work we were going to get dinner, hang out and I would try to get friends together.  He had ideas of maybe going to the Hollywood Bowl.

The next day I hired one of my cute young woman to help me set everything up.  I had been working on his party for a month and hiding the evidence at my neighbor's house above us.  Brady got home from work and I didn't have any decorations at the house.  I told him our dinner reservations were at 6:30 but he came home at 5:30 surprising me! Ah! I didn't know what to do, so I told him he would leave soon, and he fell asleep which helped me get ready more for the party.  My family had all came up, his friends from residency were at the park, friends from our ward.  I put him on a scavenger hunt with clues to each new place all around - like the apartment building our friends lived at, Trader Joes, our mailbox... each had a present for him to open and a clue.  The last clue led us to the park where everyone was.
He was surprised!  I wish I could find all of the pictures my sister took of the party and the decor, but can't find them.  It was baseball themed with lots of pictures of him in the shape of a 30.  It was very mellow and catered by his favorite pizza place.

After we decided no more surprises for each other.  We will celebrate from now on on a fun trip or something! Deal.
After we came back to our place and he opened cards and gifts from friends.  I sure love Brady!  Happy 30th Brady Boo!

YIMPS shoot and Blanket

After things started slowing down, I decided to make Jackson a quilt.  I haven't kept much of his clothes since he was a baby but I did however keep some of my favorites of his.  I first cut up his clothes and then began sewing them together.  I had no plan of design, but wanted to make something really soft and really colorful but also big.
I did a little facetiming with Jackers -- he is so missed.

I drove down to San Clemente to celebrate my sister's baby shower.
Asher was cracking me up with how much candy he was eating.
The food was so good - all gluten free and the games were even better.  It was so nice to be back home with so many friends over at Mitch and Linds' house.

Our friends Justin and Lauren came down to Utah to hang out for the weekend and we were able to catch a Dodgers game together.  All of us dated at the same time, and now are married and getting married.

I have also been working on the creative design and production of a short shorts for men company called YIMPS.  I met with their new owners beforehand and just went over ideas of what we are looking for, for branding.  It was a lot of fun working with two sets of models for both days and traveling all over LA and Orange County for both.  It was a lot of work - here are some of the pictures I was taking behind the scenes so nothing professional.

One of my friends Julia was so sweet to let us use her backyard.

I had my brother come help out for the shoot, and the CEO + photographers loved his look for the shorts.  It was fun working with him for the day.

We ran into one of my older brother's good friend that was hanging out on the beach and pulled him out to jump in the water for some pictures which was really nice of him.

Lastly, we went to the skate park.
I'm excited to see how the pictures come out.

Brady and I went to dinner -- Hook Burger. So so good! We love this place.

Here is the update on the blanket...
I stayed up late at night every night and wake up early to get this much done in a week.
Jackson's birthday is coming up so I have to move fast!

Mom's Birthday

After driving back from Tahoe, we slept a little and then drove down to San Clemente to surprise my mom for a casual birthday picnic down at Salt Creek.  All the family was there and her friends started showing up every few minutes. My little sister Bree was visiting from Hawaii with her friend Amber, and bought a little bunny.  We face timed Jackson, but didn't want him to feel bad for not being with all of us. We missed him already- just didn't feel right that he had to go back for a little bit in summer.  Brady melted all of us when he held Naomi for hours.  She was a little fussy and she goes to Brady and now we call him the Baby Whisperer.  He was so sweet and she loved having him hold her.  She would smile and coo.  We think it's because he's so calm, and she usually is so it just worked.

Loving little Asher Holland!
