Our friends Charity and Phoenix with her boyfriend Charles invited us to Venice for a festival at the park that her boyfriend was playing at. It was a lot of fun with BBQ, live music, face painting and watermelon eating contest. Phoenix couldn't make it to Jackson's birthday party because his flight came a little too late, so we celebrated one more time for Jackson's birthday. After the festival we took the boys surfing while Brady went for a run. After we cleaned up and went to Charles Venice neighborhood talent show for the kids and outdoor movie, Up. We had pizza and popcorn. Jackson and Phoenix loved hanging out.
The next day we went to church, played on the baseball game for hours that Phoenix gave him and played with his blow-up fists on our poufs before leaving. Jackson was so quiet and sad when we were driving to the airport. We kept asking him if he was okay and he was really quiet. When he and I were walking through his terminal at the airport he just broke out crying and saying he was so quiet because he didn't want to go back. It broke all my mommy heart strings putting him on the plane while the flight attendant had to peel him off of me. We are going to miss Jackson so much. Can't believe he is going to be a third-grader.
We built a volcano and the neighbor girl came out to see it
